Instructor: Laurie Makela
Class: Type Experiments
Date: Fall 2024
Keywords: Aloneness, Self, & Discovery
Objective: To develop a concept and create a book featuring experimental typography, a story, and original photography.
Approach: My concept, "Aloneness," explores the emotional depth of being alone, often misunderstood as a lack of external love but rooted in the absence of self-love. Through written narratives, evocative imagery, and cosmic-inspired colors, the book will depict aloneness as both the vast emptiness of the universe and a deeply internal experience. Emotional narratives and visuals will illustrate the internal voice, capturing the profound feelings of isolation and introspection, offering a multidimensional portrayal of aloneness.
